Description

The National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service is a bipartisan federal commission initiated by President Barack Obama. Established in September 2017, the 11-member Commission launched formally in January 2018 and will disband in September 2020. It purpose is "to develop recommendations to inspire more Americans—specifically young people—to participate in military, national, and public service and to review the military selective service process." The Commission's final report, entitled "Inspired to Serve," was released in March 2020 and outlines policy recommendations and legislative proposals.
